Our Founder

Dr Richard Oswald Commey (Dip.Ed, B.ENG, MIET, BA, MA, M.Div, PhD)

Ramah International Ministries exists to equip believers for the work of ministry and to restore the integrity and operation of true prophetic ministry within the Body of Christ. Founded on Ephesians 4:11–12, our mandate is to train, mentor, and release leaders—apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, and teaching—while also building up the wider Body of Christ, so that every believer may discover their God-given purpose and serve effectively in the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Grounded in the authority of Scripture, we are committed to teaching sound doctrine and cultivating a profound grasp of the Word of God as the foundation for all ministry. Through prophetic teaching and mentorship, we cultivate spiritual gifts and raise mature believers who understand and walk in their divine callings.

Our History

Foundation in Ghana (1996)
Ramah Chapel International was established on October 20, 1996, in Bubuashie, Accra, Ghana, beginning as a small fellowship of fifteen members meeting in the home of the founders, Dr. Richard Commey and his wife, Pastor Babsi Commey. A few months later, the fellowship moved to Swan Lake, North Kaneshie, Accra, and was known at the time as Everlasting Life. In the early 2000s, a permanent branch was opened in Kasoa, Ghana, extending the ministry’s local presence.
The Birth of Ramah
During this period, the founder received a revelation about a prophetic calling and a deeper purpose for the ministry. The name “Ramah” was revealed as part of that vision. In Scripture, Ramah was the hometown of the prophet Samuel, who was both a teacher and a prophet. According to 1 Samuel 7:15–17, Samuel traveled to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah to administer justice, but always returned to Ramah, where he continued to mentor and guide others in the ways of God, laying the foundation for prophetic training. In the same spirit, the ministry was renamed Ramah Chapel International, to reflect its prophetic mandate and its focus on teaching, equipping, and nurturing believers in their spiritual gifts. The prophetic ministry remains a defining feature of the church’s identity.
Expansion to the United Kingdom (2004)
In 2004, the church expanded to the United Kingdom, beginning as a house fellowship in Peckham, London. Over time, it grew and moved to Old Street, and later to Agal Avenue, Leyton, where it served the congregation and local community for over several years. After the COVID-19 pandemic, services transitioned into online services on Zoom, enabling the ministry to reach members globally. Plans are currently underway to resume in-person gatherings in the UK.
Ramah Bible College (2008)
In 2008, Ramah Bible College was established to provide formal theological and ministerial training. The college received accreditation from the United States, offering programs from Bachelor’s through to Doctor of Ministry degrees. Following the pandemic, the college successfully transitioned to online learning and continues to operate as a center for Christian education and leadership development.
Ramah Online (2020-25)
In 2020, on the eve of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Richard Commey received a divine revelation to launch Online Prophetic Services, a pioneering ministry where prophecy and teaching were delivered directly to a global audience via Zoom. This initiative quickly became a distinctive platform, connecting believers from over 12 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond. Since its inception, Ramah Online has met every week, bringing hundreds of believers from around the world to receive prophetic insight and impartation, establishing a new standard for fellowship and cross-continental ministry.
